By using the industries people already love, we’re unlocking new possibilities for learning, leadership, and development.

about us

Our programs

  • We design creative learning experiences that meet students where they are, from interactive lessons inspired by gaming to storytelling projects rooted in culture and community.

Our pilot curriculum introduces entertainment-based education through cinematic storytelling and simulation-style learning, showing how digital creativity can unlock real-world understanding.

  • Through our forthcoming Civic Impact Report (Spring 2026), we’re studying how community and civic leaders can use entertainment (sports, gaming, and digital media) to better engage, educate, and mobilize their communities.

This report will highlight emerging strategies, measurable outcomes, and success stories from across the country, helping funders, educators, and advocates understand the transformative potential of cultural learning spaces.

  • We build bridges between education, entertainment, and opportunity by partnering with organizations and leaders to bring meaningful programs directly to communities.

    Our work includes:

    • Panel activations and community events exploring the economic impact of the entertainment industry.

    • Professional development experiences that connect students, creators, and professionals through networking, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities.

    • Local collaborations with schools, nonprofits, and community partners to show how entertainment can drive education, employment, and empowerment.

  • We’re committed to making the world of sports, gaming, and digital media more accessible for every student.

Through our community giveback programs, we raise funds to help students and families access entertainment, technology, and creative tools. From holiday gift drives to local events that bring communities together.

Our scholarship initiatives support students pursuing opportunities in esports, content creation, and higher education, ensuring every young person has a chance to learn, play, and lead in the digital world.

Playbook EDU: The World We Build

Coming Soon

The World We Build will be the first curriculum released by State of Play under its new education initiative, Playbook EDU.

Inspired by “1,000 Players Simulate Civilization: Rich & Poor” by Ish (Watch on YouTube), this lesson transforms a viral social experiment into a guided learning experience that helps students explore power, leadership, and community through a philosophical and historical lens.

Designed for learners ages 13–21, The World We Build invites students to reflect on how civilizations rise, govern, and fall, connecting the decisions made in Ish’s simulation to real-world history, ethics, and civic life.

Built for flexible facilitation, the curriculum can be led by teachers, community leaders, afterschool educators, or parents, offering discussion prompts, multimedia analysis, and creative exercises that bring civic and moral reasoning to life.

Like classroom classics such as Animal Farm or Fahrenheit 451, this pilot uses story-driven learning to spark critical thinking about justice, leadership, and the systems we build together.

Your support helps us expand Playbook EDU into classrooms and community programs nationwide, creating free and accessible civic learning experiences for young people across the country.
